Difference between thermal barcode label printer and thermal transfer barcode label printer

1. Differences in consumables

(1) The thermal label printer can only use special thermal paper. There is a layer of coating on the thermal paper that will change color by chemical reaction when encountering heat. The thermal print head heats the thermal paper and realizes thermal printing through this coating.

(2) Thermal transfer bar code label printer consumables: self-adhesive label paper, pet, PVC, washing label, tag and other label media.

2. The difference of label storage time

(1) The storage time of thermal paper labels is not long, generally half a year. The specific time is determined by the place, brightness and temperature at the time of storage.

(2) The storage time of the medium printed by thermal transfer printing is long, generally more than two years. The specific time is determined by the quality of the label paper and carbon ribbon.

3. Differences in application industry and cost

(1) Thermal label printer is suitable for supermarket, clothing, logistics, retail and other industries with low requirements for bar code

(2) Thermal transfer label printer is suitable for manufacturing, food industry, medical industry, automobile industry, electronic and chemical industry, transportation and logistics industry, textile industry and so on.

(3) Thermal transfer printing is relatively higher than thermal printing in terms of printing cost and consumables.
